Proverbs 31

Proverbs 31 Woman Bible Passage

Hello everyone!!  I hope y’all  are having a great day and are looking to the Lord each moment for strength.  I decided that since the Proverbs 31 woman passage is something we are going to be talking a lot about on the blog, (and I didn’t have anything else ready to publish!) that I would do a post with the Scripture passage.  There is nothing more important for us to read than the inspired Word of God!

I hope that you can read slowly through this passage and think about each verse and what it means to your own life.  And, stay tuned to the end of the post for a surprise!

Here is Proverbs 31 verses 10 through 31.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

I love how this chapter is so beautiful and so practical at the same time.  It mentions some of the specific roles that God has for us women, but it also leaves them as broad categories with plenty of room for thought and study.

  2. Thank you, Mom! I’m so thankful that you taught me about being a Proverbs 31 woman.

  3. I think a pale pink ruby would look beautiful and it in a lady’s hand! The pale pink would fit with you color theme, too. Great post! In my curriculum was an assignment to memorize this passage. While I sometimes forget the order and a bit of the verses, sometimes it can be encouraging to remember the verses. ~Grace

  4. Hannah and I memorized Proverbs 31 too, and a lot of it has stayed with me. It’s such a blessing to have God’s Word in our hearts so that He can bring it to our minds when we need it. Thank you for the suggestion for a Proverbs 31 design. I like that idea, and you may see it on a product someday!
